If Considering Abortion, Ask Yourself These Questions:

  • What were my beliefs about abortion before I got pregnant?
  • How does abortion fit with my values?
  • Is abortion a decision I could live with long-term? How will it affect my future choices? My future relationships?
  • What is influencing my decision? Do I have any form of a support system?
  • Is someone pressuring me to have an abortion?

No matter your decision, we will always be here for you. Remember, you are not alone.

What is the abortion law in Tennessee?

As of August 25th, 2022, it is illegal for any physician to provide or prescribe for an abortion procedure or medication in the state of Tennessee. There is a legal affirmative defense given the physician’s good faith judgement to protect the physical life of the mother. This most commonly refers to rare circumstances such as an ectopic pregnancy. No pregnant woman can be criminally charged for performing or attempting to perform an abortion for herself.

What is the Morning After Pill/Plan B One-Step Pill?

It is essentially a large dose of birth control in one pill and must be taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex to be most effective. It is not an abortion pill and therefore does not cause a miscarriage or abortion.

Does Hope Clinic offer abortion services?

Hope Clinic does not perform or refer for abortions. We offer medically accurate information, a medical verification of pregnancy, and an initial ultrasound to confirm fetal viability. We can provide referrals for other community resources related to housing, food, adoption, etc. We offer our own in-house parenting support program, which you can learn more about here.
