If Considering Abortion, Ask Yourself These Questions:
- What were my beliefs about abortion before I got pregnant?
- How does abortion fit with my values?
- Is abortion a decision I could live with long-term? How will it affect my future choices? My future relationships?
- What is influencing my decision? Do I have any form of a support system?
- Is someone pressuring me to have an abortion?
No matter your decision, we will always be here for you. Remember, you are not alone.
What is the abortion law in Tennessee?
As of August 25th, 2022, it is illegal for any physician to provide or prescribe for an abortion procedure or medication in the state of Tennessee. There is a legal affirmative defense given the physician’s good faith judgement to protect the physical life of the mother. This most commonly refers to rare circumstances such as an ectopic pregnancy. No pregnant woman can be criminally charged for performing or attempting to perform an abortion for herself.
