How Much Does A Pregnancy Test Cost?
All pregnancy services are provided for free. Our goal is to empower and educate you about your sexual health as well as be a resource for those difficult moments.
What type of pregnancy test do you use?
We use a urine hCG physician-grade test. This is highly accurate and can detect hormones in the urine as soon as possible. Results will be available in 3-5 minutes.
How long will the appointment take?
Similar to seeing your family physician, please allow at least an hour and half for a pregnancy appointment. We also encourage you to come 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete all necessary paperwork. The appointment includes a complimentary session with a counselor and an optional follow-up ultrasound if your test is positive.
Do you take insurance?
We do not accept insurance at Hope Clinic. All our pregnancy services are free, our women’s healthcare is provided at a nominal fee, and our professional counseling is provided on a sliding scale. It is always our goal to make our services as affordable as possible and we are able to do that through donations rather than collecting from insurance.
What is options counseling?
At the beginning of your appointment, you will meet with a counselor to discuss all your options (Parenting, Adoption, Abortion*). This will give you a few precious moments to relax, breathe, and process what a positive or negative test may feel like for you. Our goal is to create a safe space for you to bring fears, joys, frustrations, and doubts. Don’t be afraid to ask questions at any point during your appointment and especially during the options counseling.
You may be asking yourself:
- What are my parents going to think?
- How can I afford this?
- What about my other kids?
- What about my partner?
- What about school? Or work?
- Am I healthy?
*While we do not perform or refer for abortions we are able to provide medically accurate information regarding all procedures and options.
Is it confidential?
Yes, our clinic strongly values confidentiality. We aim to create a safe and completely confidential environment to protect both your privacy and safety. Whether you are pregnant, experienced rape, a victim of sexual assault, date rape, or any type of abuse, we are here for you and want Hope Clinic to feel like a safe place to heal. All of our communication will be HIPAA compliant throughout your time with Hope Clinic.
Can I just get an ultrasound?
Traditionally we provide ultrasounds for mothers who have tested positive with Hope Clinic. This free service is provided as a way to detect fetal heartbeat, fetal age, and approximate due date. We are not able to provide gender information as part of our scope of care and are not able to provide one-off diagnostic ultrasounds. If you are in need of more diagnostic ultrasound care we would be happy to refer you to one of our partner OB/GYNs.
What if I have been assaulted?
If you have been sexually assaulted that you fear may or may not result in a pregnancy, we recommend contacting The SAFE Clinic at 615-258-5888 within 120 hours after the assault. The clinic is staffed 24/7, but calling ahead will result in fewer delays in services after business hours. This center is best equipped to address your initial physical, emotional, and legal needs regarding the assault. You do not need to contact law enforcement if that is not preferred. They provide free education, information, and medical care. To contact, please call 615-258-5888 or visit their center at: 101 French Landing Dr, Nashville, TN 37228.
If you are looking for extended emotional and spiritual care, please see our professional counseling services that are available on a sliding scale.
Parenting Program
If you choose to carry and parent, we then provide an assessment to determine with you if our Bridge Program is right for you to support you through the pregnancy and the first year after delivery. For more information on this program, visit our Bridge Program page.
